Circularity
At W&H, we work step by step towards more circular sports and play environments. By keeping materials in use for longer, encouraging reuse and making conscious choices in design and production, we reduce the need for new raw materials.
Step by step towards circularity
At W&H, we work on sports and play environments that contribute to a circular future. For us, circularity is not an end point but a development in which we keep taking steps. We are increasingly exploring circularity. We investigate how materials and products, such as grandstand seats, can be reused or recycled to a high standard. In doing so, we take a critical look at the full life cycle of our sports fittings. Our Take Back & Recycle service puts this into practice. We collect materials, assess them carefully and always choose the most sustainable option: reuse, refurbishment or recycling. This way, existing materials get new applications and we literally move from old to new. We keep raw materials in use for longer and take further steps towards a circular approach.
At W&H Play, circularity is already a fixed part of the design and thinking process. Play equipment is developed with a long service life, modular construction and reusability in mind. Parts can easily be replaced, adapted or reused. By making conscious material choices and limiting waste streams, we contribute to sustainable and future-proof play environments.
With GreenMatter, we offer a circular alternative within both W&H Sports and W&H Play. This material option was developed to keep raw materials in use for as long as possible and to lower the environmental impact. This makes GreenMatter a concrete step towards a more circular approach in both disciplines.
