More about the high jump mat
This high jump mat offers a safe landing zone during training sessions and competitions. The complete version with spike mat, spike cover and foam blocks is World Athletics certified.
On 27 July 1993, Javier Sotomayor jumped no less than 2.45 metres high. An achievement that clearly shows the forces released in the high jump. After every jump, the athlete must be safely caught. A reliable high jump mat is therefore indispensable for athletics clubs, schools and other sports facilities.
The requirements for athletics equipment are regularly tightened to make training sessions and competitions safer. As a result, outdated equipment no longer always meets the current competition requirements. When purchasing a high jump mat, it is important to check whether it complies with the applicable guidelines and is suitable for the intended use.
Our high jump mat is certified according to the guidelines of World Athletics, formerly the IAAF. This means that the mat meets the set requirements for safety, quality and reliability. As a result, the high jump mat is suitable for both intensive training sessions and high-level competitions.
The high jump mat is supplied as a complete package with spike mat, spike cover, foam blocks and an intermediate base. Together, the different parts form a stable landing zone and ensure that athletes are safely caught after their jump.
High jump mats are available in different dimensions, colours and versions. This means the version can be tailored to the use, the available space and the level at which training takes place or competitions are organised.
The high jump mat can be provided with a logo, club name or advertising message. This gives the mat a recognisable appearance that matches the house style of the club, school or sports facility.
Frequently asked questions
Below is an overview of a number of questions we often get! Can't figure it out? Then feel free to contact us!
A high jump mat that is suitable for competitions (IAAF certified) must have a landing zone (behind the vertical plane) with the minimum dimensions: 6 metres (length) x 4 metres (width) x 0.7 metres (height).
High jump mats with a length of 5 metres and width of 0.7 metres are not permitted for competitions and training sessions. We therefore strongly recommend choosing a landing mat that is suitable for competitions. Until 2028, high jump mats with a height of 0.6 metres are tolerated.
The most durable option is the use of a rain cover and a canopy. If facilities experience a lot of nuisance from rodents, we recommend a canopy with a spindle system. This system ensures that the canopy can lower to the ground.
When athletics equipment is provided with an IAAF certificate, the equipment meets the requirements of World Athletics. This way, you can be sure that it concerns equipment that may be used during official (international) competitions. An IAAF certified high jump mat is a landing mat of the highest quality.
