At OBS West in Capelle, they chose a schoolyard in which play, movement and circularity come together. For the layout, play equipment from W&H Play was used, made from more than 90% recycled plastic.
The choice of circular play equipment aligns with the way the school draws attention to sustainability. As a result, circularity not only gets a visible place in the schoolyard, but also forms a starting point for awareness and education in the classroom.
Pupils can play and move every day on equipment that has been developed with attention to reuse and future-proof material use. In this way, the outdoor space becomes part of a broader vision of sustainability within the school.
In the accompanying video, deputy head Ronald Moerland tells more about the choice for W&H Play and the role that circularity plays within OBS West.
With the renewed schoolyard, OBS West shows how conscious material choices, play enjoyment and education can come together within one environment.
Move More. Waste Less.
