Delivery of the first SportBox

The SportBox is a storage space for fitness and training equipment that can be placed in different locations. By placing the SportBox, the Municipality of Leiden encourages people to exercise in the neighbourhood.

Users can register via an app and, through an app & move concept, users can open the box, reserve training sessions and view exercises. It is also possible to run the SportBox with an RFID key. The SportBox is equipped with in- and pull-out drawers and a solar panel with charging options (via USB). The original and the light versions are fitted with various fitness and training equipment. The contents can be assembled by yourself and are secured with an intelligent camera system (against theft and unauthorised use). With the SportBox XS, there is room for small items such as a football, basketball or table tennis set and it is optionally also available on a standard.
