Benefits of our brush mat
The dimensions
Our recycled brush mat consists of artificial turf slats of 43×43 mm. These slats have a spacing of about 7 mm. The fibre height of the nylon brushes is about 17 mm. The underside of the brush mat is fitted with an aluminium T-profile (5 cm with 5 mm wall thickness) for extra dirt collection / installation depth. Total height of the brush mat is 110 mm.
Sustainable brush mat
The minimum expected technical service life of the GreenMatter is 50 years. Delivery includes a warranty statement of raw materials and a REACH statement.
Infill retention
It not only stops the spread of microplastics, but also helps preserve infill on artificial turf pitches.

Recycled brush mat consisting of artificial grass beams of 43x43 mm. These beams have an approximate spacing of 7 mm between them. The fibre height of the nylon brushes is approx. 17 mm high. Underside of the brush mat fitted with an aluminium T-profile (5 cm with 5 mm wall thickness) for extra dirt collection / installation depth. Total height of the brush mat is 110 mm. After GreenMatter started making a name for itself with its edging boards, we quickly started looking at other products that could be made from recycled artificial turf. Just like edging boards, brush mats help prevent microplastics from spreading further from artificial turf pitches. We were already familiar with plastic brush mat. Therefore, it was an easy choice to add a recycled variant to our range.
Pitch owners must take measures to fulfil the duty-of-care document for the environment for artificial turf pitches. The Public Prosecution Service closely monitors whether managers take measures that can reasonably be taken to prevent contamination and limit the effects of any contamination. GreenMatter’s delivery program has meanwhile grown into a wide range of products. We differentiate between products for outdoor areas, sports and civil engineering,- road and water construction. Choose green, choose the future
In 2018, people in the Netherlands suddenly woke up. The Zembla broadcast sparked an important discussion. As a result, many people wondered what the situation really is with the processing and replacement of artificial turf. Questions about health and the environment also increased strongly. All in all, it quickly became clear that not enough thought had been given to many issues surrounding artificial turf. With, as the high point, the piling up of artificial turf pitches, without a concrete plan to process them. Other mats disappeared into a grey circuit.
To provide an answer to the preventive measures, we offer our clients the option to choose circular edging solutions and brush mats, so that this helps reduce the artificial turf waste pile and prevents the spread of microplastics!

What does circularity mean to us?
Circularity is a core concept in recent years. Since recycling of materials is a hot topic, it also means commercial differentiation. Unfortunately, in the past we have already seen that this has been exploited in a negative way. The result is an artificial turf waste pile of an unprecedented size. For us, it is therefore essential that all our products are provided with the right certifications. That’s why the GreenMatter brush mat is delivered including the certificates: ISO 9001: Quality Certificate, ISO 14001: Environment Certificate and OHSAS 18001: Safety Certificate.
CSR and sustainability
In our view, circularity goes hand in hand with socially responsible business practices (CSR) and sustainability. Because our products are expected to have a service life of as long as 50 years, we can confidently speak of a sustainable product. We also try to do our part in terms of CSR. In the manufacture of the GreenMatter products, therefore, use is made of the services of a social work company, namely: Empatec. In this way, we provide meaningful work for employees with a distance to the labour market.

Sustainability and social involvement are in our DNA and you can find them in our initiatives and our delivery program. In 2019, together with Lankhorst Engineered Products, GreenMatter was launched. With this, we set ourselves the goal of reducing the artificial turf waste pile. This is done by developing and producing products from recycled artificial turf for use on or around sports facilities. After use, GreenMatter products are 100% recyclable. This creates a closed loop. As part of socially responsible business practices (CSR), we use a social work company in the manufacture of the GreenMatter products.
