Meet our Winning & Happiness courts

We proudly introduce a new concept: the W&H courts. They reflect our renewed identity and respond to various trends and developments. Let us take you through this new concept.

The concept

Fitting out sports facilities has given us a wealth of experience, but in recent years we have increasingly moved towards complete exercise concepts. Partly because the market asks for it, and partly because we are growing and constantly developing.

Winning

W&H stands for Winning & Happiness. The ‘hard’ side of this concept is Winning. Sport is about pushing limits through competitive ambition. The W&H court can be used to train and improve yourself, or to compete with others. The plus version adds an extra dimension: with Urban SmartGoals posts, the SmartGoals app offers various games and tests. Track your scores and times and keep trying to beat them: Improving is Winning.

Happiness

The ‘softer’ side is Happiness. Sport is increasingly important for mental well-being: time to focus on yourself and clear your head. The social side matters too: meeting each other and having fun. These courts are perfect for getting together at any time of day.

What are W&H courts made of?

W&H courts consist of multifunctional modular sports floors with various sports equipment. A court can be made multifunctional with different sports, or you can choose different equipment for one sport. For example, a football version with a pitch, a Teqball table and a footvolley net.

Modular sports floors

The modular sports floors are available in various colours and can have line markings and logos. Colours can be combined within a W&H court to distinguish different areas. The floors are low-maintenance and, thanks to the openings in the tiles, usable in the rain. This surface is cheaper than artificial turf and recyclable at the end of its life.

Urban SmartGoals posts

All courts can be made interactive with Urban SmartGoals posts. This plus version makes it possible to collect data, both for users (times and scores) and for the client (frequency of use and target group).

Buitensportplan

You can choose the equipment yourself, or we can help. With our partner Buitensportplan, sister company of Speelplan, we work closely together on fitting out public spaces for sport. Speelplan first carries out a needs assessment, so we can fully support the client in designing and building challenging sports locations.

Trends and developments in sport

Since the coronavirus pandemic, pressure on outdoor space has increased. There are too few opportunities to exercise independently in public spaces. Clubs are seeing membership fall because young people's sporting needs are changing. Interactive sport and gamification play an ever greater role.

Unorganised sport

The fixed times of organised sport are another reason members drop out. Young people want to choose when they exercise, and older people increasingly do too. W&H courts in public spaces or school playgrounds are always accessible. A W&H court at a sports park offers other advantages: clubs can make training more fun and interactive to retain and attract members, and rent out the court outside training hours to schools, gyms, physiotherapists and bootcamp groups, for example.

Sustainability

Demand for sustainability and circularity is growing. The modular sports floor is recyclable at the end of its life and low-maintenance. It also leaves no waste in the environment, unlike the rubber granules in artificial turf. A modular tile made from recycled turf is also being developed, so an old turf pitch can become a new sports floor.

The first W&H court is now at EuroParcs De Biesbosch. At UMC Utrecht, the same tiles are being used for a Cruyff Court. Who's next?
