In an innovative step towards a vital and circular society, GreenMatter, in collaboration with QR-FIT, introduces the QR-FIT bench. A unique concept that combines fitness and the zero-waste principle. Made from 95 kilos of recycled artificial turf from worn-out artificial turf fields, this bench gives users the opportunity to access 160 different exercises on 3 different fitness levels via an integrated app.

The QR-FIT bench has a longer lifespan than the average bench in our public space, is functional and can be fully processed in a circular manner at the end of its life.

Encouraging physical activity

In the Netherlands, where more than half of the population does not get enough exercise, QR-FIT offers a welcome solution. The movement guidelines of the Dutch Health Council form the basis for this project, which aims to stimulate physical activity among citizens and thus help reduce health risks such as overweight, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

A real bench—so you can rest, too

The QR-FIT bench, which looks like a regular park bench, surprises with its multifunctional movement possibilities. It is not only a place to rest, but also to work on strength, fitness, mobility and balance. The accompanying app acts as a personal trainer, guiding users to perform exercises correctly and to meet the movement guidelines.

Connection through interaction

This initiative also highlights the importance of social interaction and community building, as the bench is a place where people can come together and move. Through collaboration with local partners and by organising activities, QR-FIT aims for the long-term integration of movement into the daily routine of various target groups.

The introduction of the QR-FIT bench is an example of how innovation, health and sustainability can go hand in hand. With the QR-FIT app, which encourages teams and communities to stay active, the project takes a step forward in promoting an active lifestyle.
