Regional collaboration investigates circular grandstand seats for stadiums

A consortium of knowledge institutions, companies and sports organisations in South Limburg is taking an important step towards a circular stadium interior. Students, researchers and companies will jointly investigate how stadium seats can be developed that are fully circular: from grandstand seat to grandstand seat.

The research project starts with a feasibility study into materials suitable for circular grandstand seats: resistant to intensive use, weather influences and safety standards. The results should form the basis for follow-up projects and ultimately the development of a fully circular grandstand seat.

Sander De Goede: "We are proud that together with our partners we may share our knowledge and expertise for this wonderful innovation project. This initiative shows how sport, science and business work together on concrete solutions for a circular future"

In addition to W&H Sports, the consortium consists of: Fortuna Sittard, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, Brightlands Sportinnovator Center, CHILL Talent Office, Brightlands Chemelot Campus.
