The season is over: how did it go for us?

The sports season is over and the summer break can be celebrated. Besides fitting out sports facilities, many colleagues are regularly found at them too. What do they do there? Read on.

We start with our marketing team. Teun plays for vv Noordwijk in the Jack's League, the highest amateur level in the Netherlands. This season he won a starting place and played 30 of the 34 matches. As a centre-back, he even scored against Spakenburg.

Mandy also played at the highest amateur level. With FC Rijnvogels she finished fourth in the Topklasse. Next season she moves to AFC Ajax, playing for the new Ajax Women amateur team. Last weekend, during the 25th anniversary weekend of De Toekomst, the first friendly against Sparta was played. Mandy scored the team's very first goal.

Our creative colleague Jelle played for FC Lisse 4 this season and won the league. The third half went very well too. Jelle has also recently taken up CrossFit. Our fourth marketing star, Cécile, is a former hockey player who played alongside Fatima Moreira de Melo and Janneke Schopman, among others. She now takes it a little easier, but still does a Small Group Training at a bootcamp club twice a week.

The sales and planning department also delivered some fine performances. Jordy, striker for DIOS 4, scored no fewer than 21 goals this season. The top scorer finished third with his team and also found time for tennis and padel. Star intern Mick plays for R.K.V.V. Teylingen and made his first-team debut this season. Mick also goes to the gym two to three times a week.

Newest team member Kevin is one of the most successful amateur footballers ever. He hung up his boots in 2016 but stayed active in football. He is now Technical Manager at FC Lisse, where he celebrated the first team's league title a few weeks ago. Kevin runs three to four times a week and sometimes gets on his road bike.

Then our hard-working directors, all CIOS graduates. William recently had knee surgery and is busy recovering. Before the operation he enjoyed road cycling and fitness. On Saturdays he coaches his son's football team.

Rogier used to be on the football pitch every day and worked as a PE teacher in a prison and at the police academy. Nowadays he is a recreational athlete doing bootcamp, running and padel. He goes skiing every year and is the office's most fanatical (and perhaps secretly the best) table football player.

Sander likes running and has also discovered padel. He tries to go to the gym with his children one evening a week, which with two teenagers can be a challenge. He recently took part in the Mud Masters with his family, an event on the calendar every year. Sander, William and Rogier enjoy watching their children play at the weekend, and sometimes their colleagues too.

This Friday, W&H Sports takes part in the footvolley tournament during Nieuw-Vennep's festival week. With all these sporting achievements behind us, we will of course be going for first place.
