The Sportheldenbuurt: a unique location

Commissioned by Domo Sports Grass, we recently completed a great project at a special location. The Sportheldenbuurt (sports heroes neighbourhood) is a public sports park on Zeeburgereiland, in the middle of a new residential area in Amsterdam.

The park's design is partly based on a municipal needs assessment that revealed a shortage of sports space in Amsterdam. It was therefore decided to make the park publicly accessible to residents, visitors and students, which suits a modern way of experiencing sport in a densely populated city. The design includes space for korfball, hockey, basketball, batting cages, athletics and football, among others. A fitness trail with exercise equipment will run around the park.

We built two 3x3 basketball courts for the park and supplied a range of equipment. Watch the video for an impression.
